Russian - USA bumper cars in Syria turns deadly instead of just dangerous...

I am so surprised by the restraint shown on both sides in the shit show that is Syria.  This road rage bullshit is beyond my understanding though.  I just don't get it.  Can't see any tactical reasoning behind any of it.  It has to come from higher up cause I just don't see why anyone would participate in this kinda stuff unless ordered to.

When your reason for being becomes continued operations instead of winning then you are lost as a military.  I can't see the reasons behind any of this stuff but I hope for the sake of my nation that we have a real reason for being in Syria.  If not then we've already lost but just don't know it.

If its about Assad then that dude is already in a cage.  He'll have to spend the next 20 years rebuilding his nation and putting down coup attempts.

It's time to go.

Sidenote.  Can a nation that has spent the last 20 years locked in insurgencies that at best were a stalemate and at worst a loss, trust the military leadership that led it, to win future wars?  I don't think so.  Any "ideas" for the future coming from this crop of generals should automatically be thrown in the trash and we should wait for the next group of leaders (probably some shit hot Colonel that has pissed everyone off) to figure it all out.

Wow. Who came up with this idea? HQMC highlights Marine Tankers being deactivated!

I would comment on this thing but I'll let a dude that did it on Instagram speak for me...
jarhead_spartan Can't destroy them from without...must destroy them from within. It's sad watching the decline of the Corps from toxic leadership w bad ideas. Just a mirror of the country under our congressional leadership. Semper Fi?
Who thought this was a good idea?  Don't get me wrong.  The whole thing is batshit stupid from my seat but to highlight the move?  To put this front and center?

Is the Marine Corps trying to make me into an Army cheerleader instead of my once beloved Corps?  Wait.  Is it still my Corps or is it now as I fear the Air & Missile Marine Corps?

Chesty was wrong.

This is the NEW breed and I don't recognize it as being the Marine breed.

FNSS PARS III 8x8

In before the whiners.  Show me another company (in the West...the Russians are out front with their stuff...China boosters are too) that is as forward with their products as FNSS and I'll post the hell outta their stuff too.  For better or worse most manufacturers are in the fetal position and hiding stuff from the public.  Not FNSS and that's one of the reasons why I'm a fan.  BAE?  Once they were so far ahead of the pack the rest couldn't even see them.  Not so much today.  Lockheed?  Can't get behind a company that has done some of the stuff I've heard about (remember the Patria nonsense/backstabbing).  The closest to  FNSS appears to be NEXTER right now but they're in a kind of drought.  So for the above reasons I present the PARS III 8x8.  Drink up the armor boys...drink it up and be merry!

Public Service Announcement. Keep your Key Fobs away from your front door!

Video: Criminals are using what’s called an RFID amplifier. A car key fob sends out an RFID code, thieves work in pairs, one with a receiver the size of an iPad, the other with a clicker. The thief with the receiver only needs to be a few feet from your key fob, usually next to your front door, and then sends the copied signal to the other thief with the clicker - and like magic opens the door. Keep your key fob away from your doors and windows. Put it by your bed night stand and if possible drop it in a Faraday Cage such as an fold up poxuh you can find on Amazon or the #faradayhank by @superessestraps . This will shield it from criminals. It also serves as an alarm. If you hear a disturbance in the middle of the night, click the alarm on you key fob. This will draw attention to your home and cause a neighbor to call 911 or at least check in on you. It will also deter criminals. US. Army Soldiers Participate in Lightning Forge

My nemesis and the 3rd MEFs doom, the 25th ID is doing work.  I look forward to see how THEY evolve to meet the challenge of nation state warfare.  Oh and have no doubt.  HQ Army will move earth and part seas to make sure the 25th is involved in whatever war plan is developed for the Pacific.  They could even become a one-off Army Division specifically built to fight in that region.

Time will tell.

Sidenote.  The Army is about to move to rotations to Korea instead of basing. That means the 2nd ID is also in the mix for a wider range of missions in the Pacific.  You do realize what this means don't you?  Even after tailoring the entire Marine Corps for this one fight, the Army will still be ahead.  If they go crazy and buy a shitload of antiship missiles, develop those new rounds for their artillery and possibly even setup a few Apaches for antiship missions (against patrol boats and fast missile boats) then they'll lay claim to being the most capable force for fighting in the littorals...even more capable than the USMC and possibly (depending on how they develop their force) the USN.

173rd Airborne Brigade Discusses Their Mission

GEEZ!  The Marine Corps has been wrapped up in "concept chaos" since Amos and the Army has regained it's footing and is thundering into the future.  How? They're not trying to revolutionize their force.  They're evolving it!

Interservice rivalry?  You bet your ass and the Army is poised to win and win big.  Take a serious look at the folks down the road at Ft Bragg (sidenote, don't give a fuck about the name of the place...too many black soldiers have served with distinction at that shit hole and its a part of their history too!)....and in Italy.

They're coming for our rapid deployment mission and will come with evil intent and serious purpose.

When they get their Airborne Armor back, Infantry Squad Carrier AND start dropping HIMARS or LAPES' them off the back of C-130s we're gonna be in the shit.  The serious shit with the most deadly enemy of all.  The bean counters (call bean counters the most serious enemy because they, along with 'doctrine dweebs' can prevent our forces from having the gear they need to win).

Note.  How do you locate, fix and destroy the Missile Marine Corps' modern day scuds?  You get persistent battlefield surveillance.  This is just one piece of the puzzle to crack the Missile Marine Corps wide open.

Royal Marines "Vanguard Strike Company"

Story here.

Interesting.  This part of the article stood out but read it all..
Commandant General Royal Marines, Major General Matt Holmes, said: “The Vanguard Strike Company will lead and inform how the Royal Marines and Army Commandos will operate and fight in a dynamic, technological era of warfare.

“We envisage several of these networked sub-units persistently forward deployed around the globe, with an array of sophisticated enabling capabilities, to present dilemmas to adversaries whilst supporting partners. These will all be at high-readiness, as a capable forward contingency force at the core of the Royal Navy’s Littoral Response Groups.”
I see the Royal Marines are on the same path as the Missile Marine Corps except with less gear.

In essence we're FORWARD DEPLOYED (the RM's too) in penny packets, expecting these EXTREMELY SMALL FORCES to somehow deter a determined enemy that has overwhelming firepower.

We're setting up the modern version of that old western...Ft Apache...but on a global scale.

The enemy will find, fix and destroy these units in place...with EASE!  Part of their issue gear should be a box of napkins for the mothers of these Marines to cry into when that notification officer and the Chaplain show up.

US Army @ Defender 20 - Europe

Baby steps now (relatively) but the Army is getting back into its old REFORGER type days of moving forces around the globe.  Can't wait to see what they're gonna do in the Pacific but mark my words.  The US Army will be there and they're gonna yank out a seat at the table.

It might seem far fetched but the Army is talking REAL BIG about multi-domain operations so them buying a few batteries of anti-ship missiles shouldn't come as a surprise.  Additionally I'm betting we're gonna see a proposal to sail Patriot missiles on US Navy ships to be landed with Missile Marine Forces or even alone.

There is alot more to the naval battle than just lobbing missiles at ships.  Extending the range of the anti-air umbrella is important too.

IF the Missile Marine Corps concept is valid then placing anti-air missiles in forward locations (meaning alongside anti-ship missile vehicles) would seem beyond reasonable.  It would seem essential.

The Army has straws out and they're actually drinking everyone's milkshakes.  Of course it's brother services made it easy but they're doing it none-the-less.
