The FBI Director's statement on the Hillary e-mails

Thanks to Mobeius for the link!

via FBI.gov (here to read the whole thing...a small rant below.)
Our investigation looked at whether there is evidence classified information was improperly stored or transmitted on that personal system, in violation of a federal statute making it a felony to mishandle classified information either intentionally or in a grossly negligent way, or a second statute making it a misdemeanor to knowingly remove classified information from appropriate systems or storage facilities.
And then this.
Although we did not find clear evidence that Secretary Clinton or her colleagues intended to violate laws governing the handling of classified information, there is evidence that they were extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information.
So its clear that Hillary and friends handled classified information in a negligent manner.  Why aren't they in fucking jail?  But wait.  It gets better.
I have so far used the singular term, “e-mail server,” in describing the referral that began our investigation. It turns out to have been more complicated than that. Secretary Clinton used several different servers and administrators of those servers during her four years at the State Department, and used numerous mobile devices to view and send e-mail on that personal domain. As new servers and equipment were employed, older servers were taken out of service, stored, and decommissioned in various ways.
The female worked hard to conceal her e-mails.  There wasn't just one server but several.  That points to intent!

The US govt is not to be trusted.  Whether we're talking about the military or federal law enforcement, they've all been corrupted.  It was never clear to me but this shines a light on it.  Money and power will allow you to get away with anything....even endangering national security.

Korps Mariniers Recruiting Commercial

The USMC once made commercials like this...now?  Now its vacuous bullshit like talking on a subway about why you want to join the Marines with a feminine sounding guy at the end saying some forgettable nonsense.

Boxer CRV for Land 400 Phase 2 gets impressive armor update!

Thanks to Dragon for the pics!

Wow!  First I want to know who built that armor package.  Is it the boys that put together the EVO for the Leopard or Plasan?  Second.  Wow.  They added extra armor to the hull and turret.

This contest is turning into a real, deal street fight!  Talk about fun!

Singapore Army highlights its new vehicles

The PCSV can carry a payload of up to 4,000kg and be configured for different combat support and combat service support functions. The vehicle is also equipped with a 7.62mm Remote Machine Gun that allows soldier to operate the weapon from within the cabin and minimise exposure to enemy fires.

The next generation AFV (right) will replace the ageing ULTRA M113 AFV (left) which has been in service since the early 70s. Developed together with DSTA and our local defence industry, the new AFV will provide our armoured forces with enhanced firepower, protection, mobility and networked warfighting capabilities.

The next generation AFV has a closed-hatch design and operates with a 3-man crew, capable of carrying up to 8 troops. It will be commissioned by 2019.

The AFV will operate alongside the Bionix Infantry Fighting vehicle to fulfil the SAF’s operational requirements. It is equipped with a digitised fire control system with stabilised firing-on-the-move capabilities, and is also networked to the Army Battlefield Internet for better coordination

I don't quite understand the role that the PCSV (the 4x4 above) will play in the Singapore Army but they appear to be as fired up about the truck as they are about the Bionix replacement.

It'll never happen but I would sure like to get an up close look at their battlefield internet.  They're pushing battlefield connectivity harder than any other force on the planet.  What advantages are they seeing that I'm missing?

Iranian power lifter volunteers for combat in Syria.

Like Luimarco says the game is bodybuilding.  The duration is on a "daily!"  The problem?  This Iranian body builder got popular on the internet and now he's supposedly heading to to Syria to participate in the fighting there!

Two things will happen.  The first is that if he's anywhere near the front he'll lose weight and come back looking like a starving Somalian just from stress alone.  His cortisol production will skyrocket and weight will come off in sheets.  The second is ...if he lives that long. I give him 2.5 seconds anywhere near the front.  I wonder if anyone is telling this guy the news?  He'll be an instant target and I wouldn't be surprised if they made an effort to capture, parade, torture and then behead him.

I've concentrated on social media in the West and how we perceive the war.  I never took into account how things are viewed in the Middle East...especially Iran.  Is this being painted as a patriotic fight?  Are they calling this a religious war between sects?  If so then we're not looking at this the right way.  If its patriotic/religious then there is no putting out the fire.  You just have to let it burn.

This guy is another reason to sit out this stupidity in Iraq and Syria.  You can't take sides in religious wars.  Just take advantage of the outcome and wait for the next flare up.

Its all soap opera bullshit but I'm getting hyped for UFC 200!

I don't know why but I really want to see Jones absolutely slobber knock DC!  Am I being played?  Cleverly marketed to?  Probably!  But I don't care.  This drama whether real or imaginary has me wanting to see it.

Its all soap opera bullshit but I'm getting hyped for UFC 200!

NOTE 1:  The best fight on the card will be Aldo vs Edgar. Aldo will win the fight I'm thinking.  That little dude from Brazil is just a machine!  His motor doesn't quit and he is a surprisingly good striker to say he's from Brazil and of course his JuJitsu is on point...legit as fuck!  Dana has been protecting McGregor.  One lucky punch and then no rematch?  He knows the deal.  McGregor is avoiding a fight with Aldo like the plague.

NOTE 2:  The full episode is below....yeah, this might actually be good.  Prediction?  Jones knocks him cold in round 3.

ISIS is on a terror offensive....can security forces blunt the assault?

Thanks to Herbloke for the link!

via The Telegraph.
Saudi news sites are reporting that a suicide bomber has carried out an attack near a US diplomatic site in the Red Sea city of Jeddah.
Okaz news website says the bomber died in the attack, and that no other deaths were immediately reported. The bomber was apparently headed in a car toward a mosque that is near the American consulate in Jeddah. Most of the consulate's staff have reportedly moved offices to a new location.
Add up all the news I've gotten from readers and its obvious that something MAJOR is brewing.  From the news from a few tribe members in Europe talking about weapons caches being found, to the terror attacks that have happened over the past week and half.

ISIS is on a terror offensive.

What I wonder about is how much is this "inspired" and how much of this is directed?  If we're looking at a combination then that's bad enough.  If this is all inspired then we're looking at a worse case scenario.

We might be looking at modern terrorism morph into something new and I'm not sure politicians, the public or our security forces/police are prepared to deal with it.

The truth will drive civil libertarians mad but we've got to call this what it is.  Islamic radicalism. With that admission then we need to treat terrorism outside of the war zones in Iraq, Syria and Yemen (not inclusive but you get the idea) as the problems that they are.

It resides in a certain community.  In the past we dealt with the Mob by going into Italian communities and dealing with the issue.  Same with the Militia/Sovereign Citizen, Jamaican Drug Dealers, Gangs of all stripes etc.  You don't go after grandma and grandpa.  You go after the demographic group in the community where you saw a problem arise.

You had to profile because it helped husband limited resources while protecting civil liberties.  We need to put aside political correctness and deal with the reality.  My prediction?  The West is gonna get hard because we won't get real about this threat.  Being a "diverse society" and a "nation of immigrants" shouldn't be a suicide pact.  Our leadership is turning it into one.

Does anyone remember the movie "The Siege"?

Unless we get ahead of this terror stuff then the cries of we are united will be replaced by cries of protect me and we'll see US troops in the streets of our major cities.

Whatever happened to the Ultra Heavy Lift Amphibious Connector?

Remember the fanfare that surrounded the vehicle you see above, the Ultra Heavy Lift Amphibious Connector?  Amos was jerking us around because he was dragging his heels on the ACV, while trying to transform the Marine Corps into a seagoing 101st and DARPA was chest thumping because they believed they had solved the fictitious problem of launching from 100 miles out at sea (the CNO even told us that the Navy would roll back enemy defense so that we could launch from 3 miles out.....it was obvious that Amos had an agenda when that news came out).

But back on task.  I did a post on this subject (here) and while we saw a bevy of impressive concepts (here's a shock....I've settled on the LCU-F as being the least risky and most likely to succeed) we've heard nothing from HQMC about the project.

Is this another ghost project that isn't going anywhere?

The 1st Battle of the Diaoyu Islands...Major Johnson gets the fight he wants (Part 3)

Part 1 here, Part 2 here...just a work of fiction guys...don't pick it apart and just enjoy the ride....

On the island.

Major Johnson was confused, a bit pissed, mystified and mad as hell.  He barked at his Weapons Platoon Sgt and told him to get Lt McMurphy's skinny ass to his position asap, and wanted to know why he wasn't hearing heavy machineguns singing and anti-tank missiles flying when he ordered weapons free two minutes ago.  The response sent a chill down his spine.  GySgt Davis told him that Lt McMurphy died doing a leaders recon and got caught in the open by a Chinese Sniper and that he had lost four Marines....two were blinded by laser/dazzlers while they were tracking the Chinese AAVs and the other two were microfragmented when they got hit by what he thought must have been mortar fire...big ass mortar fire.  As if things couldn't get worse, he could now feel the vibration thru the ground.  That Chinese armor closed the gap faster than he thought.  All those stories from those old school Chosen Marines were being repeated.  He swallowed hard and realized that this is the fight he wanted but he wasn't prepared.  He was too confident.  Too sure in his ability.  Too convinced of his invulnerability.  Why didn't he fight this Company Landing Team concept?  Everyone that studied military history for more than a minute knew this unit was too light to win.  Why didn't he man up instead of go along with the program?

That wasn't the worse part.  He gazed over the terrain and saw his Marines fighting for their lives but knew that it was just a matter of time before they were all killed.  He thought about his wife and wondered if she'd be ok.  He thought about his son and hoped that he would be alright...that he'd have a good life.  Then he prayed.  God.  Just give me one more day.  Give us all one more day.  We can take the pain, but please give us one more sunrise.

Chinese Assault Force landing troops....

Capt Chang had received updates on the American Marine position from both his forward scouts and from ultra high flying UAVs.  They were marked.  They were indexed.  They would soon experience hell on earth.  His ZBD-05 had popped smoke 2 miles offshore and naval gunfire produced a screen that would extend all the way to his forces going feet dry.  Any second now the arrogant American dogs would feel the true power of the Red Dragon's Marines. They would wither under a relentless hail of naval gunfire and UAVs carrying clusterbombs underneath their wings ready to add to the pain.

The plan was perfect.  The only real problem is that his men would not get a chance to test themselves.

The Japanese Recover...

Japanese Air Self Defense Force Colonel Kazani Suzuki had blood pouring out of his eyes.  The Chinese have the unmitigated gall to lob missiles at his airbase?  They foolishly thought that they could knock his forces out of this fight before it began?  Ha!  Lessons would be taught this day and the student would not like the instruction!  He launched his entire 6th Wing in support of the American Marines.  Supposedly the Marines were there to protect the Japanese.  Today, the Japanese would protect the Marines...

Divine Wind Flight...

Capt Yoshijiro Umezu was leading his flight of F-15's with a mixed load of air to air and air to ground missiles out to the US Marines position at max military speed.  He could feel the airplane vibrating around him, but today he didn't care.  Today is the only day that mattered.  If the planes were stressed beyond repair then they would have to be rebuilt.  If the engines were ran too hot then they would have to be replaced.  But he would get there.  He was needed and he would not fail.  He pushed the throttle to the firewall and pushed a bit harder.  He could see the formation keep pace.  They were just a few knots from going super sonic with a full weapons load...that buy of advanced GE engines is paying off today.  They're gonna bloom but they're going in low and fast and will kill the Chinese armor and send the Chinese Marines to a well deserved hell.

This is the fight that everyone that was paying attention knew was coming.  The difference for him?  He prayed for it.  His grandfather was right.  Duty is heavy as a mountain, death as light as a feather.

4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne)

Colonel Green looked at the phone for a minute before moving.  He was still processing the information.  A Company of Marines were in the fight of their life, US Navy ships had been sunk and now he was ordered to get his entire Brigade Combat Team ready to go in 12 hours.  Every swinging dick and ovary was to be aboard C-17's ready for a combat drop in 12 freaking hours!  They weren't scheduled to be the Ready Brigade for another 3 months now they want him to pull a miracle out of his ass.  Worse, at least a 1/4 of his soldiers were on leave.  No way he could get them back in time.  This is a freaking nightmare.  He talked to his Senior Enlisted and thought the guy was either gonna punch him, spit in his face or turn in his retirement papers!  CSM Duenas can be volatile but he could pull this shit together and he needed his help on this one.  Once word got out everyone would be trying to bang the wife or girlfriend on a quicky  or in today's Army their boyfriend before reporting in.  12 hours.  It must be alot worse than we've been told.

USS Gerald Ford Aircraft Carrier (San Diego)

Hey skipper, we got a flash message....you definitely want to see this one.  While Capt Pennigton was reading the message on his tablet, he was told that the CNO was on the horn for him.  Skimming the message he knew what was coming.  He was told that he was about to make "modern" history.  Carrier Air Wing 8 would be joined by Carrier Air Wing 5.  For the first time in recent memory a US aircraft carrier would sail with its full complement of aircraft...almost 100 airplanes on over an acre of sovereign American territory...this was going to be a real example of naval air power at sea, not the half assed bullshit that had been done for the past decade and a half.  Once they were on board later this afternoon he was to move out at flank speed .... real flank speed, leave the escorts behind if they couldn't (and they wouldn't) keep up.  That means that he would be pushing the Ford at close to 55 knots over to Japan.  When he raised the question about enemy subs, he was told that escorts would be patrolling ahead.  They would have P-8's and every anti-sub capable ship in the region protecting his route and pinging the waters.  They'd clear the way, he just had to get there and get there fast.

Combat Assault Battalion (Okinawa) & 2nd Battalion 7th Marines

The Marines from both Battalions were in the base auditorium receiving a joint briefing on the situation facing the Company Landing Team.  Things were bleak.  The latest video from a high flying UAV showed the Chinese approaching Marine positions and firing everything in their arsenal (or so it seemed) at them.  The Japanese Self Defense Air Force was sending a flight of fighters to support them and it was hoped that if they could hold out then maybe the situation could be saved.

They also learned that the US Army was sending an Airborne Brigade Combat Team with orders to drop on the Marines position, fortify their positions, take command of the situation and hold until relieved.

The groans in the auditorium was hard to ignore.  Help from the Japanese is acceptable.  SOCOM riding in to do their thing?  Yeah we can live with that.  But the airborne bubbas?  Geez.  This is a real bad day! It was said in jest of course.  Everyone could sense what was coming and gallows humor helps take the edge off.

It was this moment that the Regimental Operations Officer took the stand and laid out the bad news.  Those JHSVs that everyone would have to figure out how we would use them would have a combat role after all.  They were gonna load up onto them, sortie out and do an in-stream launch with the idea of doing an amphibious assault to relieve our Marines before the Army could get there.  One crusty looking First Sgt that had the look of being dragged there after a serious bender stood up and asked where the cover was for this little stroll over to Diaoyu.  The answer was surprising.  S. Korea as expected was gonna sit this out but our Air Force Wing stationed there wouldn't.  As our brief was going they were already en-route to Japanese bases to refuel and provide cover on the run into the launch point.  Additionally AH-1Z and UH-1Y would be on deck to launch as soon as they got within range to bring fire on the Chinese and support our beleaguered Marines with the added benefit of carrying their air to air package in case Chinese fighters or UAVs decided to poke their noses into the festivities.

MARSOC & Special Forces Group gets pushed to tomorrow.  Hint.  Their raid from hell is a deep penetration strike to take out a command node and gather intel.  3rd MARDIV (Reinf) mobilizes and our nuclear subs finally get to play.  This is Part 3.1...as we speak I'm working on Part 3.2....I needed to get all the players on the board so that's why I'm trying to shape the read.  Note that the S. Koreans, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and India are sitting this one out.  This is done on purpose and not an indication that I think they're bad allies, just that they're being pragmatic and don't see this as their fight.

OK. So Neller is trying to hold the line by increasing PFT/CFT standards....

Ok, so I've been slamming Marine Corps leadership on the surrender on Women in Combat, the Transgender fiasco and the absolute capitulation on removing "Man" from tradition filled MOS titles.

I was right in doing so, but it appears that they're trying to maintain standards on the sly.  PFT/CFT standards are being increased.  I doubt if it'll hold but it will be harder for the SecNav, SecDef and future congress critters to argue against higher standards....until women start bitching that is.

Which is why I can't bring myself to cheer this move.  It won't work.  The same thing that happened with women in combat will happen to this increased standard.

It will be ignored, facts will be thrown out the window and the Haynie/Ripley/USNI Blog sycophants get their way again.

The Marine Corps had a good run.  I guess nothing lasts forever.

Jesus! USAF General Breedlove sought to start war with Russia?

In a series of messages in 2014, Breedlove sought meetings with former Secretary of State Colin Powell, asking for advice on how to pressure the Obama administration to take a more aggressive posture toward Russia.
“I may be wrong, … but I do not see this WH really ‘engaged’ by working with Europe/NATO. Frankly I think we are a ‘worry,’ … ie a threat to get the nation drug into a conflict,” Breedlove wrote in an email to Powell, who responded by accepting an invitation to meet and discuss the dilemma. “I seek your counsel on two fronts,” Breedlove continued, “how to frame this opportunity in a time where all eyes are on ISIL all the time, … and two, … how to work this personally with the POTUS.”
I do not understand the Pentagon and State Dept's position on Russia.  If ISIS is the primary threat then why the focus on Russia?  They aren't a threat in Europe.  They could help in the Middle East.  Yet instead of working on common issues we're setting up a false cold war?  I just don't get it.

Worse is this crap.

This is the second story in less than a week of a serving General Officer that is at odds with the White House.  They have no problem with the social agenda but think that starting another useless war is a good idea?

I don't think I'll ever be a fan of this President, but I am beginning to wonder if he might not have a point about the plotting behind his back!

Oh and the stunner!  Powell was involved in this?  Fucking seriously?  I know retired generals never retire but JESUS!  Why would he assist in this effort?

Combat capable Law Enforcement is only a matter of time. The debate is over.

I've been watching the terrorist attack in Bangladesh and a few things are obvious.

The first is that if you're taken hostage you're already dead.  You must avoid that situation at all costs.  You have three choices.  Fight, flight or hide.  If you attempt flight and you're unsuccessful then your chances of implementing a hide strategy will probably be slim to none.  The reality is that if you don't, won't or can't fight...and if you can't run then more than likely you're gonna die.

Awareness of threats and not simply following the crowd in this day and age is more important than ever.  Unfortunately our Govt releases warnings late and they're not widely publicized (did you know that one day before the attacks in Turkey the State Dept issued a travel alert...kinda makes you wonder if they had intel doesn't it?)

But I digress...back on task.

I saw police militarization (in the wake of high profile police shootings) and I came out against it.  I thought that the force on display was over the top.

I was right about that.  But I was wrong about the threat that terrorism would play since those troubles.  Quite honestly I looked at ISIS, saw that they had at most two divisions of troops operating in the open desert, saw the forces arrayed against them, and thought that even the idiots in the State Dept and Pentagon would be able to defeat them quickly.

I gave them too much credit.

Even now its estimated that the coalition forces are facing off against 12K ISIS fighters (total) in Iraq and Syria.

They took too long to kill the snake and now its turned into hydra.

We're gonna get hit in the US and combat capable law enforcement will be necessary to deal with the threat.  NOTE THAT I DID NOT SAY TO SAVE CITIZENS!  Those people unfortunate enough to fall into the clutches of the terrorist at the start of their rampage will die.  Combat capable law enforcement will be needed to combat them after everyone in the school, mall, church, etc...is dead.

The future will see a full combat loadout for cops on the beat.  They might hide the rifles, grenade launchers and 782 gear in the trunk of their cars but they will suit up before combating this new breed of villains.

The unprepared among us are simply the walking dead.  They'll probably snap chat their own deaths.
